Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow centres set to throw open doors once again
Continuing to help people during Lockdown
CancerCare Helpline continuing to help people across the Morecambe Bay area...
John Beckett, 72, lives in Halton and is currently undergoing treatment for a tumour on his pancreas along with other underlying health conditions. “I was doing my shopping myself but my son warned me against it to protect myself and, of course, other people,” said John.
Then, neighbour and CancerCare hypnotherapist Georgie Whittle told John about our Helpline, which was set up to provide support for vulnerable people isolating during the coronavirus outbreak by providing essential shopping/medicine deliveries. Since then, John has received two week’s worth of shopping deliveries to his door courtesy of CancerCare volunteers and he said he was so pleased with it, he intends volunteering for us when the current 'lockdown' situation eases.
“It was so well organised and I am so grateful. I’ve seen what a great job they are doing and I will be offering to help when we come through all this, either at the centre or as a volunteer driver,” John added.
