CancerCare Challenge Success!

With lots of our fundraising events being postponed or cancelled, and the launch of additional support services helping the community through the coronavirus outbreak, CancerCare asked you to take on The 2.6 Challenge and fundraise from home!

We loved seeing all the creative activities you thought up around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and you did us so proud, raising a whopping total of £7,584! Funds raised will make a huge difference to families in our local community coping with cancer other life-limiting conditions, particularly during these especially difficult circumstance.

Below are a few of our favourite challenges…

Sienna's plum tree triumph!

Sienna's plum tree triumph!

Our youngest participant, two-year old Sienna was sponsored to run 26 laps around the big plum tree in her garden.

Mum, Clare said “Due to an underlying health condition, Sienna has had to be shielded and therefore been confined to the garden since Lockdown. In order to get rid of some of her energy Sienna has spent a great deal of time running around the garden.

During the challenge Sienna made us all so proud as she had a huge smile on her face the entire time. She didn’t even want to stop and ended up running quite a few more laps despite the high fives and cheers   when she’d completed the challenge!”
