Combatting COVID isolation in a virtual videogame world
A fond farewell to Chief Executive
Today we all bade a very fond farewell to our Chief Executive Maria Chambers with coffee and cake at Slynedales.
We are all really sad to see Maria go. In the year-and-a-half she was with us she did a huge amount of incredible work including raising our profile across the north of England and beyond, introducing a raft of technological innovations that have revolutionised the way we work and, most important of all, steering us through the stormy seas of COVID.
It’s been a tough year and Maria’s experience, expertise and ‘never say die’ attitude helped us weather the storm and emerge from it with the spirit and the ambition to take the charity forward into 2021 – whatever that may hold.
We wish her all the best and hope she has some lovely memories, not to mention a big jar of Percy Pigs, to take with her as she embarks on a new chapter of her career with the National Deaf Children’s Society.
Our new Chief Exec Alison Stainthorpe said some lovely words at Maria’s presentation and we are all looking forward to supporting Alison over the coming year and beyond.
All the best Maria…
