X Factor Star Paul Akister to Perform at StarWalk

starwalk new5Local star Paul Akister has confirmed his support for the 8th Annual CancerCare StarWalk event by performing live on the night.

This year’s StarWalk event takes place on Saturday 26th April will see nearly 500 participants run, walk or jog 15k or 5k night time routes around Kendal town centre. Organised by local cancer support charity CancerCare, the StarWalk event has fast become one of the only charity night walks that welcomes women, men and children to take part together to raise thousands of pounds for local families facing cancer in North Lancashire and South Lakeland.

Paul Akister says:

Paul’s live performance will  kick off StarWalk 2014 from 8pm onwards at Kendal Leisure Centre with Bay Radio star Danny Mathews also on hand to rev up the crowds ahead of the group warm up and massive balloon drop.

The StarWalk has raised over half a million pounds to date all of which helps support CancerCare’s vital work in helping adults and children affected by cancer in North Lancashire and South Lakeland communities.

CancerCare supports local people whose lives are affected by cancer as well as their families, carers and anyone who has been bereaved by cancer. They offer a wide range of free professional support services delivered by experienced and qualified staff including counselling, hypnotherapy, aromatherapy massage, creative art therapies and exercise classes to name but a few.  The charity also offers a dedicated Children and Young People’s Service for children as young as three.

Entry for this year’s StarWalk is £15 per adult and £10 for under 16s. Entrants will receive a goody bag, bacon butty, and a special edition StarWalk T-shirt on the night.
