CancerCare Community Fundraiser and Bark in the Park organiser Helen Hartin said; “It was great to have themed the event around St. George’s Day and see so many great fancy dress outfits, both dogs and owners!. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect and Williamson Park looked beautiful. The day had a great buzz about it and it was heart warming to see so many local families and their Pooches turn out to support CancerCare. I spoke to many of them and it was obvious that it was important that the money raised stayed locally and people could see it was being spent wisely, helping local families through their cancer journeys.  The Dog Show was great fun, especially the ‘biscuit catching’ category and the walk finished off a very PAWSITIVE day!

Lanes Vets

We’d also like to thank all the local businesses that showed their support including: Lanes Vets who were our main event sponsors (team pictured above) and raised even more on the day by selling homemade cakes; Animal Care, Lancaster who donated all the Show prizes and amazingly, had lists of people who were interested in adopting the dogs they brought; Sue Parry and the team from G Whizz Agility (pictured below) who worked tirelessly for 4 hours taking dogs over the course and donated all the proceeds; Sue Dobson from Lanes Vets and Kathryn Jones from Clever Fox Canine Training & Behaviour  for judging the Fun Dog Show; Lou Andrews & partner for Face Painting & Shield & Helmet making; Sue Milligan Photography, the official photographer, who also donated a Photo Shoot for the most sponsorship raised; Canine Company for the Doggie tombola & Funtime Amusements; and Moorcraft Rosettes for donating the fabulous rosettes for the Fun Dog Show.

G Whizz Agility

And of course, a massive thank you to all the CancerCare volunteers who helped out on the day - the event wouldn't happen without them.  Everyone put  so much effort into helping us raise as much money as possible for CancerCare, so that we can continue to be here for local families affected by cancer and  other life limited conditions."
