We Are Net Pic

South Lakeland charity CancerCare has started the New Year with a fresh and modern look being applied to their website - and they haven’t had to spend precious funds to do it!

A Kendal based web design and development company Net* offered to redesign and add new features to their website as a donation to the charity when approached by Lyndsey Murison, P.R Marketing & Communications Lead for CancerCare in October 2014.

CancerCare is a charity that is close to the hearts of the team at Net* after turning to them for advice about upgrading the site.

Annette Ritson, MD of Net Development said:

“When Lyndsey first approached us about updating the website without spending a fortune I just knew we had to help and give back what we could in return for all their kindness and support they have given to friends and family over the years. They do such an amazing job and offer an invaluable service in our community. All of the team got behind the project and treated it with the same level of creative enthusiasm and professionalism as with all our design and development work. We wanted to help them to better show off the good work that they do, and we are really proud of the end result.”

As well as being given a design face lift the website has been given an extra boost with a new blog feature and Stories page to highlight case studies from local people who have benefited from using CancerCare’s services.

Lyndsey said,

“We are absolutely thrilled with our new look website and it’s been such a pleasure working with the Net* team. For a local business to donate their time and expertise completely free of charge is so incredibly generous - we can’t thank them enough!”

“As well as looking fantastic, the improved navigation of our new site now makes it much easier for visitors to use and learn more about CancerCare and the support we offer local families. We’ve also just launched online entry for this year’s Kendal StarWalk event so we’re urging everyone to sign up and get involved!”

CancerCare has been helping local families affected by cancer & life limiting conditions for over 30 years from their two dedicated centres based in Kendal (The Lakes Centre, Blackhall Road) and in Lancaster (Slynedales, Slyne Road.)

The unique charity offers a wide range of free professional support services including Counselling and a specialist Children and Young People’s Service for children as young as three.   All CancerCare’s services are provided free of charge and funded almost entirely through charitable donations and community fundraising.
