Help us circumnavigate the Globe!
Virtual Santa Dash
This year, our annual Santa Dash will swap the streets of Lancaster for the networks of cyberspace as the event goes “virtual” for the first time ever, this Christmas!
We are inviting you to pledge to run, walk, cycle, swim or row as many miles as you can between 9 November to 20 December to cover the 1,347 miles between Santa's home in Rovaniemi, Lapland to Lancaster - via our centres in Kendal and Barrow!
All the miles pledged will be deducted from our official Santa “Dashometer” totaliser as we aim to get him, and his eagerly-awaited sack of presents, to the children we support in time for the big day.
We want to make this a real community event with a friendly competitive edge and we’ll be posting regular “achievement” updates from participants on our dedicated web page and offering support on a closed Facebook group. We will share your stories, achievements, and photos from the challenge along the way. The emphasis will very much be on the words “festive” and “fun”!
The 1,347 miles is significant it is the same as the number of therapy sessions we delivered to youngsters whose lives have been turned upside down by the impact of cancer and bereavement in their families between August '19 and '20.
Entry is only £5 and you can find out more and sign up here

Life at CancerCare has been very different in 2020 and now that our centres are open again, demand for our services is increasing. However, unfortunately for us, an increase in demand does not mean an increase in income: it simply costs us more to provide our services. At present, our income is just not covering our costs. Our clients receive their therapy for free; we need you to help us keep it that way.
93% of our income comes from public donations and we are incredibly thankful for your support.
