Smudge - our Lancaster Bark in the Park Best in Show winner!

Another busy and productive week at CancerCare! First off, I'm very pleased to report that last weekends Bark in the Park fundraising events were a huge success - thanks to all who supported and helped!

Let me also take the opportunity to welcome Christine Wardle to the CancerCare team as our new Head of Income Generation who also joined us this week - a very exciting addition to our team!

I also had pleasure in attending a meeting of the Kendal Gateway Partnership -  a partnership of nine local charities. We are working on an event for local clients and volunteers which will be a chance to lobby the local parliamentary candidates on April 9th in Kendal about a range of health, community and other issues.  We're working on getting a  group together to represent CancerCare at what should be a great event.....our version of question time! I also managed to catch  up with Angela Robinson from the local NHS Clinical Commissioning team for a chat about next month’s Morecambe Bay Cancer Network meeting.

cancerconferenceToday (Friday) we're I'm in Manchester - along with two of CancerCare's trustees and staff team members Pam and Andrea - to take part in the National Cancer patients conference ,which I hope will be useful, inspirational and a great way to network!

More on this next week!
