Hello! Looking out of the window it’s a pretty wet outlook but despite this it’s been a good week of being out and about at various external events, promoting the work that we do.

You will have read in previous blogs about a bid for a MacMillan funded project, sponsored by the North Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group. This has been successful and the steering group on which I sit met for our first planning meeting. I am so pleased that we are involved in the delivery of this part of the Cancer Recovery Package and a key element of engaging with patients and clients. I will keep you updated as the work of this project moves forward in 2016.

neil and janeOn Tuesday Jane and I attended a conference at the Dukes Theatre in Lancaster which was hosted by U3A. The theme of the day was all about living, loving and laughing - all hard to do sometimes but actually so therapeutic for all of us. It was good to support two of our Trustees Gill Baines and Gary Rycroft who were key organisers of the event. T

On Wednesday I finally caught up with Mike Poole the Head Teacher of Stramongate School in Kendal ( next door to the Lakes Centre). The school are really supportive of what we do and a great relationships has been built up over time by Richard and Kim. I am thrilled that Mike as asked me to do a talk to the forum of all Head Teacher’s in Kendal ( 19 schools in total) in the new year.

On Thursday another day out for me, this time in Barrow at the AGM and partners day for Cumbria CVS. I manned another stall and met lots of useful people, particular pushing our linkages into Barrow, all of which are being really well received.

Friday is here again, the decorating works are progressing, the lounge is looking great. I am just about to meet up with Richard Little who is facilitating an away day on Monday for the Kendal Gateway Group of charities, so looking forward to expressing to him some of  my thoughts about the opportunity I believe the charities  have by working more closely. Have a great weekend folks!
