Good Morning, we find ourselves at the end of another week. Have you been following the Olympics? I have, even though I am not a big sport fan. However you cannot help be impressed by the commitment and passion Team GB have demonstrated.

I particularly like the stories about the lesser well known athletes, who have worked behind the scenes to be the best at what they do.

One of my week's highlights  was being present at the Lancashire Fire Service and The Prince's Trust presentatio,  which took place on Wednesday in Morecambe. Here, I heard some tremendous stories of courage, grit and determination from a number of local young people. The connection to CancerCare,  I believe, is the potential for us to work with the Trust and support future local programmes, which could help the development of our Children & Young People's service for teenagers.

On Tuesday on my way out, I bumped into super fundraiser Alice (pictured above).) You may have read about Alice’s amazing fundraising efforts last month when she took part in a sponsored hair cut in front of her classmates at school. Well done!

And I could not resist taking this cheeky snap of Andrea Partridge, our Volunteer & Engagement Coordinator posing with one of the many fantastic “designer” handbags that have been donated for our Handbag Swap event being held at Slynedales tonight and organised by members of our Phoenix Support Group.

I am sure they will have a great evening and raise a fair amount of money.

Enjoy the evening and thank you.
