Charity Challenges
Could be the year that you change someone’s life, including your own.
Often the proudest moments of our lives, were the hardest to achieve and CancerCare would like to offer you the opportunity to get involved in probably the best and worst things that you could do this year. We have an inspiring programme of great activities for you to get involved in that will help you shape up in 2009 and you don’t have to do it all on your own; why not recruit a challenge champion to support you along the way?
In 2008 two thousand people supported CancerCare by participating in one of their challenges including the Star Walk and the Cross bay Challenge. Here are some inspirational words from our latest challenger Ronald Dennis who completed the Great Wall of China Trek:
“It was certainly a challenge, but I have brought back wonderful memories and made some friends for life”
And from someone who completed the Cross Bay Challenge 2008:
“All in all, more of an adventure than a run, but one I will return to next year..”
We have midnight walks, adventure on the bay, snow-capped mountains, tropical beaches and even Roman History on Hadrian’s Wall. We’ve got something for everyone to get their teeth stuck into that won’t break the bank or your belt!
If you are worried about global warming and the credit crunch, we have some great local challenges where you will get fit and healthy at the same time as helping people living with the affects of Cancer.
Help people live their life by living your life to it’s fullest with CancerCare Challenges
LAST FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH
Cancercare Coffee Morning - 10 am - 12noon - Slynedales
CancerCare Walks - Organised by CancerCare Volunteers - Why not ring us on (01524 381820) or pop in to Slynedales nearer the end of the month and find out where they are going.
We are looking for just 5 people each to start a COFFEE PYRAMID. All we ask is for those 5 people to invite 6 people to a coffee morning/afternoon tea/wine evening and charge just £2.00 a head. What you provide or if you chose to add any extra fundraising is entirely up to you. The 6 people you invite are then asked to invite 5 people (30 people involved), then 4 (120 people), then 3 (360 people), then 2(720 people), then 1 (720 people). If completed each pyramid could raise £3,500. If you can help, please contact the fundraising office at Slynedales (01524 381820) for your Pyramid pack.
