Facing cancer, whether as patient, carer or member of the family, is almost always a life-changing experience. CancerCare aims to work with people as they come to terms with and manage these changes, in particular by providing relevant information and emotional, social and psychological support.

CancerCare’s services are all offered free of charge by professionally qualified staff supported by our management and administrative staff, and a large team of volunteers. 

Our Therapy Services office at Slynedales welcomes referrals directly from cancer patients and their carers, as well as from healthcare professionals. Children and Young People’s referrals come from families themselves, social workers and teachers. Initially, we meet each person to assess their needs and identify how best we can support them.
