Recycling
‘One man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure’
Recycling is great for the environment, great for de-cluttering and a simple way to support CancerCare.
Bras
Second–hand bras are in demand in the developing world so we have teamed up with recycling group Bag It Up to recycle your bras. Simply bring your unwanted bras into a CancerCare centre or send to: CancerCare Appeal, Bag It Up Ltd. Calder Street, WestVale, Greetland, Halifax, HX4 8AQ.
A fantastic £2000 has already been raised through your donations of old bras!
Mobile Phones
Recycling mobile phones can bring in vital funds for CancerCare while diverting potentially toxic waste from landfill. Bring your phones to us or send them(no postage required) to CancerCare, Freepost London 16281, London, WC1N 3BR.
Stamps
Used stamps of any kind can be sold at a much better price than a few years ago as very few charities now collect them and so supply and demand has come into play. So let us have yours. Please remove the entire envelope except approx. 1inch around the stamp and either drop them off at one of the CancerCare centres or post to: Stamp Appeal, CancerCare, Slyndales, Slyne Road, Lancaster, LA2 6ST.
You could say ‘it’s money for old stamps!’
Books
We now run an annual Book Fair in association with our Big Book Bonanza event at the beginning of March. We raised over £2000 selling second-hand books in Kendal and Lancaster over one weekend in 2010.
Please drop off your unwanted books at either CancerCare centres during January and February each year. If you are unable to transport the books please ring 01524 381820. Unfortunately we cannot accept books at other times due to the lack of storage.
