100 CLUB
Give a little, achieve a lot as part of CancerCare’s Corporate 100 Club. Just 100 members funding 1 project that will change people’s lives
Investing in your community
CancerCare is the largest charitable organisation of it’s kind in the UK, Providing local support free of charge to people facing cancer at different stages of the cancer journey. Demand for CancerCare’s services has grown significantly over recent years and projections based on rapidly increasing population, a consequent increase in cancer incidence and improving survival rate show that demand will rise even faster in the years to come. Corporate Social Responsibility has grown in importance over recent years for companies of all sizes. Many businesses now recognise the impact they have on the communities and environment they operate in and the positive role they can play. CancerCare plays a vital role in the community of North Lancashire and South Lakeland and by working with us companies can improve the lives of people living in the region.
The 100 Club
The 100 Club will support the 2nd proposed development in the Silver Jubilee Appeal - this will replace the 'temporary' 14 year old Woodwork port-a-cabin with a new, purpose built Arts and Crafts centre with full disabled access providing modern, safe, better- equipped and more accessible facilities for the enjoyment of creative expression aimed at improving psychological and emotional health.
How does it work?
We hope to fund a particular aspect of the project without asking any single company for a large amount of money. Each of the companies that become part of the club can feel a real ownership of this great development for a truly affordable donation and help to provide a fantastic facility for the good of those in our community who needs our services.
The internal fittings for the Arts and Crafts centre have been costed at £25,900.
All we need from your company is £259.
All we need is just 100 companies.
What does being part of the Club mean?
In return for you donation of £259 your company will receive:
- A framed membership certificate
- Quarterly updates on the progress of the project until completion
- Invites to the official opening of the Arts and Craft Centre
- Acknowledgement in the Annual report
- Acknowledgement on the new Corporate page of the CancerCare website
- Acknowledgement in Connect newsletter sent out to 12,500 supporters
- A mention in any other PR materials connected to this project
- The knowledge that you have provided help for many people when they were at their most vulnerable.
Involving your employees
Getting involved in fundraising at work is great fun. It can build team spirit and help develop new skills, whilst raising much-needed funds for CancerCare. You can add a fundraising element to an existing company event, or could plan one with CancerCare in mind. From glitzy dinners to inter-office football tournaments, from tasty cake sales to 10km walks, the ideas are endless. Our Fundraising Team will be on hand throughout the process to support your fundraising efforts.
Why not focus your fundraising efforts and choose to support CancerCare for a whole year. We can help you plan a varied calendar of fundraising events and activities so there is something for everyone! We also have a calendar of events from bike rides, to runs and walks.
Payroll giving
Employees can also support CancerCare through their pay. Payroll giving is a simple and tax-efficient way of making a regular donation to CancerCare. The donation is taken directly from the salary before tax and the taxman then makes up the difference.
| Your Pledge | £5.00 | £10.00 | £20.00 | £50.00 |
| Cost to you @ 22% tax (net) | £3.90 | £7.80 | £15.60 | £39.00 |
| Cost to you @ 40% tax (net) | £3.00 | £6.00 | £12.00 | £22.00 |
These donations provide CancerCare with a regular and reliable source of support which allows us to plan ahead and commit our resources to providing the services at the level that is required. Without this security of income we will be in the untenable position of having to ask vulnerable people to wait for our support at a time when they need it most.
If you are interested in making a regular donation through your pay please contact fundraising@cancercare.org.uk.
